Client: Cavanna
Solution adopted: Spare Parts Catalog Builder (SPCB), Web Spare Parts (WSP)

Cavanna Packaging Group is a Piedmont-based company founded in 1960, an internationally established manufacturer of flowpack packaging systems in constant growth.

The group has installed more than 6,000 complete plants or individual machines and serves over 900 customers.

With numbers of this scale, the company felt the need to strengthen its after-sales management, not only in terms of the resources involved but also by relying on structured software solutions.

Cavanna found in Sygest the ideal partner to support it in improving the quality of the after-sales service for new plants, as well as in simplifying the spare parts management workflow.

From 2014 to today, Cavanna has gradually introduced all the modules of Sygest’s Sys Suite for spare parts management, in order to offer its customers a complete service.

The journey began with Spare Parts Catalog Builder, software that automatically creates interactive spare parts catalogs, generating an interactive 2D PDF with ballooned lists of commercial parts and lists of recommended spare parts.

Spare Parts Catalog Builder proved to be such an efficient and streamlined communication platform for receiving quotations and placing orders that in 2016 it led Cavanna to also adopt the offline Desktop solution Digital Advanced Visualization.

Cavanna carried out an upgrade from 2D to 3D, using Spare Parts Catalog Builder to generate 3D catalogs to be published on Digital Advanced Visualization. The automatic procedure allowed them to reduce the workload of the technical department, generating the 3D of the machine directly from the CAD data and without the need for 2D drawing layouts and ballooning.

With Digital Advanced Visualization installed on board the machine, technicians are supported during maintenance operations thanks to the ability to navigate within a viewer or from the BOM and identify the required spare parts, consult instruction manuals, electrical diagrams and interactive animations (“procedures”).

In 2016 Cavanna expanded the Sygest suite by implementing App Spare Parts, making it possible to browse the catalogs both online and offline on Android and iOS devices, allowing operators and customers to download the catalogs for consultation even remotely and to send order requests once the connection is restored.

Thanks to the App Spare Parts QR code reader, users can scan the QR code placed on the main assemblies of the machine to directly access the 3D catalog.

It was in 2018 that Cavanna, to boost online spare parts sales, decided to adopt Sygest’s Web Spare Parts: by integrating the E-commerce module into the company website, Cavanna can now manage customer orders with great simplicity, offering them a structured and easy-to-use portal to order spare parts independently.

The results of the ten-year partnership with Sygest are clear:

  • better customer service
  • increased spare parts sales
  • reduced time spent on the activities of the After-Sales BU
  • improved corporate image with a focus on technology
